Anyone have a great bunk bed supplier that has bunks with curtains and possibly lights built into them?
Apparently no one manufactures such things in the states and we'd like to do better than Ikea bunk beds.
While on the topic of Ikea, has anyone got a track record with their bunk beds. We just installed a few but i'm not sure how durable they will be. Anyone?

Hey ya'all....
I mentioned the bunk bed dilemma to an architect friend who is VERY interested in manufacturing custom beds...and I think he can do it much cheaper than the supplier that comes to the hostelworld conference. Any opposition to him joining the forum to ask questions?

It's a publicly viewable forum so anyone is welcome to read it and join to discussion. If someone would build this kind of bed I think it would benefit hostels...

I would want someone to make a modular Bunk Bed design E.g, so i could dissemble a Bunk bed and convert into a Double bed frame. This would save money over haveing to buy seperate Double bed frames. During the off season when occupancy is low and dorms are empty I would convert my empty dorms into privates. This way I could diversify and focus on yield instead of heating empty dorm rooms. I also like the idea of useing recycled materials to be more eco-friendly, however this could have an impact on quality. Does anyone know of a hostel that has done this before?

We have two of their bunks. They´re not exactly cheap, but quality is second to none. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they look nice.
