We tried putting up firewalls and then some sites reception needed to get at to help out guests were blocked. Also, clever receptionists got around the firewall. Our biggest concern was people downloading viruses by accident and wiping our our reservations system.
I would also consider on having the booking system on a separate computer where only that is available, on a separate network and a general system for the staff to use on a different network.
One suggestion is that if you run computers for Internet browsing by the the hostel guests, is to have that network completely separated from your hostels work network. Not worth risking your work PC's with some infected PC or something else.
