We have three choices of wake-up calls:
1. By phone
2. By knocking the door until someone answers (for a private room only)
3. Nudging his/her shoulders.
They can choose a combination of any. They'll also be informed that the one who come in is female or male (depending on who takes the shift on that day).
Besides normal wake-up calls, we also do some proactive calls. Our hostel is fully function 24-hour because our common area is separated from the rooms and some guests stay until very late. They may not ask for a wake up service but we just know they have to catch an early bus or flight (if they book tickets through us or let us know). If they don't show up in the morning, so we go to wake them up.
They appreciate this EXTREMELY.
