MyAllocator - has anyone tried it?

Anyone using Myallocator? Or are there better options now, I know this is an old topic.

MyAllocator definitely has a part to play in the market. We have direct integrated with the best global Online Travel Agents like HostelWorld, Agoda etc. But there remains a lot of localised regional OTA's that can be important to the hostels in their orbit. MyAllocator rapidly adopts these integrations via bypassing complicated aspects of integration by moving the things like currency exchange rates to HostelOffice. MyAllocator also does not import credit card details and this is a serious issue if a hostel is having lots of cancellations or No Shows. For example Booking.com famously does not make any effort to facilitate for the hostel cancellation or No Show policies. HostelOffice again fills the gap by enabling the hostel to debit for the No Shows and late Cancellations.

MyAllocator has grasped a core principal of the internet. That being there is increased localised specialisation occurring that increases the relevance of local expert OTA's . SiteMinder has proven this model by creating a very successful channel manager business over the last 7 years. Ctrip is a great example of a local OTA that SiteMinder is excited about and MyAllocator intending to integrate with. Ctrip is the most popular OTA used by mainland Chinese people to book airline tickets and accommodation. There are many examples of OTA's like this and great debates about how many should be integrated or not. The answer to such a debate is found by asking yourself what is the cost?

If you are happy to pay commissions to agents, then you are happy about the commission cost and most likely do not seek to reduce that cost. If you are happy that people book beds and then cancel or No Show and you can not debit their credit card, then you are happy about that cost. When you are happy about these things then you will be most happy with MyAllocator. If you are proactive pursuing direct 100% bed price paying guests then you could also be happy about MyAllocator to assist you in the off season. If you have succeeded to have an excellent web presence that gains you mostly direct non commission lost bookings then MyAllocator can still be an asset when you price all beds to cause the guest to pay agent commission on top of your full bed price.

But the more you expose your hostel to agents then the more those agents compete with your direct booking web presence to undermine your direct bookings. The more closely you are align with agents then the more exposed you are to manipulation by the agent rules. All the agents and your own website rely on Google and Google gives the advantage to the hostel website and not to the agents. So if you feel you have to rely on agents via a channel manager then you are giving up the advantage Google gives you.

Someone please point out the supposed negative things I stated about MyAllocator?

I am quite sure I posted a balanced set of information that gives the reader no doubt about the value MyAllocator would have for their hostel and ideas on how to make the most of MyAllocator.

This thread has existed for over 5 years and no one had bothered to post some details on how MyAllocator functions from a users perspective that communicates more than is on the MyAllocator website. So I do not think I should be attacked for contributing content after waiting over 5 years for others to contribute content.
