New hostel in Oslo by the summer - and we want you on the team!
Business Partners
My name is Viktor, and together with few of my friends, we are looking to start a hostel in Oslo, the capital of Norway. To make this happen, we would like to strengthen our team with a few more members! This is where you come in!
It will be a hostel well over 150 beds, with a social factor to the project, seeking to make it a meeting ground for people who are new in town. We will combine the hostel with a cultural café, small concerts, debates and open mic nights.
Last winter me and a friend had a pre-start-up project, that lasted for five weeks. We wanted to gain some experience, collect some data, and understand how visitors to Oslo thought of hostels. The project was a great success and we had a solid surplus. Now, one year later, we have worked hard and saved up money, to boot strap the hostel. I am currently enrolled in an entrepreneurship masters program at UiO, and are also working with the idea through my studies.
What we are seeking is both an investor who sees the potential in the project and the team, but also a possible team member, who are hard working, creative and intelligent. We are already an international group of peers, both from Norway, Mexico and Germany - any nationality would be welcome.
While we wish to start the hostel in march/april, we are looking already for opportunities to expand to other cities in Norway, where we have a solid network of young professionals. Since we are seeking to expand within a short time, we are scaling the organization to make it happen in a lean and smooth operation.

Good evening,
I'm a 31 years old guy, graduated in journalism and editory, and I had the possibility to do several experiences abroad as press agent and social worker.
At the same time, I've been in many hostels around Europe and, during the summertime, i have been working for three months as receptionist in an hostel in Leuven ( Belgium ), learning a lot about accomodation facilities management.
It's mainly for this reason that I would like to do other pratical experiences in this sector, trying to improve my relational and communicative skills and my knoledge about it. If you're interested and decide to contact me, i can also be available by now.

Thank you for all your warm replies both here on the thread and on personal messages. I will answer them all, but first a short update.
Just after we published this post we decided to finish our degrees before embarking on a hostel venture. One left for Mexico, another for Shanghai and I went to Cape Town and now heading to Berlin in a few weeks. The Mexican and I, still have a strong passion for the project, while the German are going into politics. We'll try to convince him of better things.
The hostel is still my very foremost plan, and everyone who knows me - also knows the visions regarding the hostel. While studying entrepreneurship, law and IR - I have tried to find local entrepreneurs that I can align with, and that I could see myself working 17 hours a day for the next five years with. I have yet to find the same kind of team that we were a year and a half ago, but I am sure that this will sort out.
I currently have just over a year left of my masters in law, and until then the hostel will just be the pitch, the dream and the search for co-founders. The ideas, the passion and the plans are there, so are part of the capital, but until then, the focus is the (re)search.
