Hi, I'm looking for an investor/business partner to open a hostel in Nicaragua or Costa Rica, I've been living and traveling in these Countrys for more than 2 years. Also i have more than 2 years experience managing hostels and more than 6 years in tourist and service fields.
In Nicaragua I know how to get the licences and permits, also how to create a legal corporation, plus estimates of investment depending on the project.
I have great construction skills.

Here is some extra info:
Leases go from $700 to $1,500 depending on how many rooms it has and how big are the properties, some of the $750 to $900 buildings have between 3 to 5 rooms plus kitchen, patio, 1 or 2 living rooms that can be converted to other rooms.
Monthly utilities are arround $150 (water, electricity, tv & internet)

By the way, in Nicaragua we can find a great place either in Granada, oldest colonial city in central-south america with a great lake and just 1 hour away from the beach, or in San Juan del Sur in the south pacific coast of nicaragua.
I speak english and spanish, and have great skills with plumbing, electricity, construction, wood, and any type of build/repair project.
Also looking for environment friendly options to apply to the hostel.

I had the pleasure of spending a few months in Granada 2yrs ago and whilstI have a deep fondness for the city,I think it may now be almost saturated with accommodations now. But maybe not??
I have also been looking at Leon and Las Penitas - as close proximity to the coast appeals.

I am also looking into taking on a hostel business in Nicaragua and really liked Leon & Las Penitas when I was there and have been back a couple of times. Hostal Tortuga Booluda in León is currently for sale but is more expensive than I can afford to take on alone, however I am more than interested in going into a partnership. This is just one hostel I've seen but I am happy to look into any options in Nicaragua. I have lots of hospitality and tour operation experience so would be looking to at least part manage or set up a sideline tours section.

I have very similar interests, as far as finding some partners to start/takeover a hostel.
I have stayed in many, and I have a lot of ideas. My background is in Hospitality, Bar/Restaurant and finance. I am currently employed fulltime, saving money like a madman! I research and plan this venture on a daily basis. I would be VERY interested in begining the dialogue with some people with similar interests, with the goal being a partnership with a few like minded people.
I am open to suggestions! I believe Nicaragua and Panama are both ideal places, but once again, i am open to suggestion.

Is anyone still considering the move or have made the move? Me and a couple of my friends were looking into this as well. We would like to buy a place however or a piece of land at the moment to hold our spot until we can fund the rest. Or we could partner up and do this 4 ways, no need to hire staff then and we would all have a vested interest in it. One of the partners in a nicaragua native so she has contacts in different areas as well. Message me if interested. We might swing down that was for some more research come December
