I worked in hostels for many years and realized that there weren't many resources for people who run hostels or who want to open a hostel. I hope that you enjoy the site and find it useful. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. My goal is to create a resource that will promote hostels and hostelling, especially in places where hostelling is not as common (e.g., here in the USA). Post in this section to introduce yourself to the other forum users.

I always travelled around Brazil and I actually tried having my own tour company in Maceió back in 2004.

My name is Gabriel. I am currently traveling around the world living in hostels and working online. I have been following this forum for 1 year now. I met several hostel owners during my travels, and I realized that most of them are not very good at computers. Many hostels have outdated websites, and almost none of them are optimized for mobile phones.
As I have been a full-time online marketer for 6 years now, I decided to help small and independent hostels to get more direct bookings and reduce their costs. So I started to work on a new service that makes it really easy for anyone to create responsive hostel websites, accept bookings and make different marketing campaigns online.

Im looking for Investors in Canada.
Whistler the host of the Winter Olympic 2010 has one of the first Hostels/Buildings in Whistler for sale. It's on the market for $1 699.000 yes I'm not kidding.
I know that is not a small number but this is Whistler.
This Hostel is still owned by AMS/UBC British Columbia.
This Building needs desperately roofing repairs and plumbing solving skills what is costly too.
I'm original from Germany and moved to Canada/Whistler 4 years ago. I'm working in the hospitality business for over 10 years, currently working in a Hostel a little outside of Whistler and would love to do my own thing :-) Who not.
I would love to Manage this 42 bed building in order to own it later but I need a kick start first.

Whistler is booming and it won't stop. This property will have a triple of value in the next 15/20 years.

Ok Hostel Community and Top Contributors! Thanks for letting me use this as a resource and sounding board through all of my research. Now that I'm off the ground and established I'm going to try and stay more engaged on here whenever possible. It took over 10 months of construction, website development, intense research...and now I'm in some ways kicking back and enjoying watching my baby flourish.

My name is Matt and im 27 from melbourne Australia!
I signed up on here almost a year ago but im back on after working 8 months in bali at the club med resort. Im moving to the sunshine coast in under 2 weeks and would love to get some experience working in hostels. I have a diploma of resort management and Im a hard worker (club med was 16 hour days 6 days a week) so if anyone on this forum knows of any backpacker/hostels hiring or your hiring on the sunshine coast i would be very grateful of you passed on the details :)
In the future I would love to run/own a hostel so being able to get on the front line of one would be very beneficial to me. I have attached my resume as well.
