Hi,
I worked in hostels for many years and realized that there weren't many resources for people who run hostels or who want to open a hostel. I hope that you enjoy the site and find it useful. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. My goal is to create a resource that will promote hostels and hostelling, especially in places where hostelling is not as common (e.g., here in the USA). Post in this section to introduce yourself to the other forum users.

Hello All,
My name is Naomi, I've had the good fortune of frequenting hostels in Washington DC, New York City, Paris, Geneva and several other smaller cities. I absolutely love hostels, and have decided to open my own here in Washington State.
I am currently earning a business degree, and by the end of my current quarter will be writing a business and marketing proposal for the hostel I would like to open. I am hoping some of you can help me with market research. I need to know more about how big the industry is in the US, and the State of Washington and what our future projections look like.
I hope to learn as much as I can from everyone here.

There have been so many discussions over the years about the business of hostels in this forum, I'm sure you can find a lot of great information for your business and marketing proposal.
