Almost 2,500 Forum Members: Introduce Yourself!

At the moment there are over 30 new people signing up for the Forum every week, and it's probably going to reach 2500 registered users sometime next week. It would be great to hear 30 new introductions every week...

If you're new to the site, please take a few minutes to introduce yourself here :)

  • Do you work at a hostel? (you don't have to mention the name of a hostel if you prefer to remain anonymous)
  • How did you become interested in hostels?
  • Where are your favorite travel destinations? (and why)
  • Do you know of any good places where you think new hostels should be opened up?

I'm very happy I found this forum.

Do you work at a hostel?
No, not yet.

How did you become interested in hostels?
I have a lot of friends who travel around the world and prefer hostels. Hostels are the best thing for young people who want to travel the world and meet friends.

Where are your favorite travel destinations? (and why)
I love the Netherlands. Amsterdam is the prettiest place I've ever been to. I also love the Austrian Alps (been to Innsbruck) and Istanbul.

Hello everybody!

My name is Caroline and I am in process of opening a Hostel in Italy... well, to be honest in the very beginning of the process :) I've been travelling quite a bit and during these travels the dream of once owning my own hostel / backpacker grew... Now, after years of business consulting I feel ready to start my own adventure.

One reason to join here is that I still need quite some information, especially about the financing. Does anyone (from your experience) have any advice / idea of where to start? Thank you very much!!

Hope to be able to report more about the hostel at one day!!

I'm looking for work at a hostel or retreat centre which is possibly holistic and spiritually centred, wellness, healthy eating and 'eco'. I have stayed in hostels in Costa Rica and Brazil but I'm looking for something closer to home in Europe for 1-2 months. Im a 30 yr old single female interested in yoga and nutrition, I surf a little and appreciate beautiful surroundings. Please get in touch with me if you have any leads or ideas, I'm in need of guidance and inspiration! Thank you
