Introduce yourself

Hiya! I'm looking into starting a hostel in Washington, D.C., in 2009 to cater to youth groups. I'm hoping to partner with with CAP to also co-locate their new national museum. Any advice is welcome!

Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, is a nonprofit organization with more than 56,000 members nationwide. CAP performs 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and was credited by the AFRCC with saving 103 lives in fiscal year 2007. Its volunteers also perform homeland security, disaster relief and counterdrug missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. The members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to the nearly 22,000 young people currently participating in CAP cadet programs. CAP has been performing missions for America for more than 66 years.

Our cadets are ages 12-21. CAP is also the U.S. host for the 17 nation International Air Cadet Exchange. Our cadets all meet in D.C. for training before going to their assigned countries, then we get all the cadets in from other countries. The UK participates through their Air Cadet Organisation of Great Britain, in cooperation with the Royal Air Force.

Hi there. I am just back from talking my teenage nephews on a trip to Europe, wtih the final stop at Balmers Youth Hostel in Interlaken. What a wonderful place . . . Anyway, I am starting a small hostel in Santa Monica. I have rented rooms for several years to travelers and am currently looking for a small building to turn into a hostel. Am very excited about this, and will use the many recourses in this site for my venture. Anyway, thanks for "listening." :}

Hey, everyone!
My name is Chad Cherry. I'm planning on opening Chattanooga's first hostel. We have a great town full of nice people and fun activities.

I am in the planning phase now. I have purchased a house large enough to get the hostel going. Now I'm trying to learn about all of the necessary steps to get the hostel up and running.

These forums are a Godsend. I'm looking forward to reading about what y'all have done.
