I also disconnected CHARTS from my small hostel in Latvia after a few months of use. It didn't perform as I was led to believe. I also removed ASSD and I was a Beta contributor to Backpack Online and removed it twice from one hostel. I tried to influence HostelWorld to develop a system that was more hostel flexible but after 2 years I have decided to partner with the developers of Dorm Project that I now brand under Hostel Office.
All these changes cost a lot of money in purchases and transition costs so it was not my hobby. I needed an efficient system and now I have it.
If you want to use Hostel Office by pressing keys then you can do that.
If you want to train staff fast then just have them watch the online videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR1n263
Cancellations are automatically removed.
There are too many valuable functions and features to mention here.
But yeah if you use an agent booking engine you will lose about 5,000 euros a year per 100 beds in commissions. If you use the Hostel Office booking engine you will gain free website optimisation advice, make more money per room and not lose agent commissions.
To top it off we will give you the software free of charge if you have a large hostel with a website that search engines can find. We do this because the hostels that have paid attention to their business are easier to support.
Two full time programmers, data backed up in Germany and mirrored in Switzerland. You can load it on your laptop and access it anywhere in the world.
I don't think there will ever be a better offer than this to put at least 10,000 euros extra in to every hostel owner's pocket a year whilst strengthening your own website.
But believe it or not many hostels just prefer to have excellent facilities, excellent staff and keep a substandard system for managing rooms, allocations and bookings. We respect the Hostel owners choice to do with their business as they please.
