Hi,

I worked in hostels for many years and realized that there weren't many resources for people who run hostels or who want to open a hostel. I hope that you enjoy the site and find it useful. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. My goal is to create a resource that will promote hostels and hostelling, especially in places where hostelling is not as common (e.g., here in the USA). Post in this section to introduce yourself to the other forum users.

Hello everyone! I can't believe how helpful and wonderful everyone is on this site. I am so happy it exists and that I found it!

For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of opening my own hostel. I always figured I would wait and do it when I'm older, more experienced, etc, but now is when I'm young and driven, so why should I wait to pursue my passion?

I suppose I am here to join the masses of people on this site who have no idea where to begin! As far as location, I am thinking either Central America or basically almost anywhere in Asia. I know S.E. Asia is overrun with hostels, and some of the best hostels I've ever stayed in were in Central America, so my choices of location might be tough, but I am always up for a challenge.

I can't wait to see what this site has to offer :-)

that's awesome.

Exactly what me and a friend this year. We dug our heals in and opened our hostel in June. We are extremely happy with our creation!

And would be very happy to part with any advice.

Just opened a hostel in Marrakech in order to support our adventure tours business their. I have been traveling to Morocco since the early 80's but decided a couple of years to open a business full time their. We have now opened the hostel to support the business.

It is a small intimate Riad called Riad Splash. We have a interchangeable set up with the rooms so we can bunk them to cope with groups of up to 20 or to have them as private rooms for couples or who hostel bookings.

Great to have found this site as a reference point for hostel management as we have plans to open more to support our other adventure travel businesses. I have been involved in adventure and adventure travel and activities all my life but only went full time into the business in 2003. Currently own a small group of adventure travel and activity businesses in Scotland and Morocco and I am looking to expand by buying more or partnerships. We specialize in white water rafting and water based activities like canyoning but we offer a full range to keep the clients amused from 1 day to 2 weeks plus. We also have some other businesses to support our adventure businesses like video production and photography and now we are into hostels.

Hello folks,

My name is Ibrahim and I'm from Istanbul. Merely by chance I got to know this site surfing through internet and I said to myself " this is exactly how my dreams can come true!!"

I have great appetite to open a hostel. I am also a globetrotter that I have seen many countries and met a lot of new guys. and I want to convert this in a lifestyle or part of my life. Actually I am open to any offer to open a hostel but especially France, Spain and Czech Republic are in my mind. I am so serious about it.

Hi. I am Ennever. I have been looking at this web site an thought that I had registered from the first time I came her; but I am happy that I official now. I have a realestate license and have a good eye for possible hostels in Connecticut--especially my area. Funds are the issue, but I have no problem supporting or partnering up with others. I am in a prominent area of New Haven Connectucut that is growing. With proper management and determination we/I can flourish. I look forward to learning, sharing, working, and growing with you (collectively).
