Introduce yourself
Hi,
I worked in hostels for many years and realized that there weren't many resources for people who run hostels or who want to open a hostel. I hope that you enjoy the site and find it useful. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. My goal is to create a resource that will promote hostels and hostelling, especially in places where hostelling is not as common (e.g., here in the USA). Post in this section to introduce yourself to the other forum users.

Hi. My name is Sean. I live in Sydney and I'm looking to join the already overcrowded market here. I'm looking at buying an established hostel, almost certainly a leasehold as I don't think I can raise the capital for a freehold hostel at the moment.

Hi from Germany,
my name is Andreas, since two years I am managing a hostel in Germany, close to Frankfurt Main.
The hostel is a non profit organisation and charitable.
Since there are no real good books in Germany available for professional hostel management, I am looking to find books in english. Probably somebody is willing to help? Any hint is welcome.
So much for now - I'm looking forward to getting in touch with you guys!
Oh, before I forget: Happy new Year (it's not too late, is it? :-)

If there's some kind of hostel management book out there, i'd like to know about it too! I've been doing this for 7+ years now and never heard of a guide...Santa Klaus - perhaps you can write us one. :-)

I don't think there are any such books.
But this site is the nearest thing to it. Perhaps indeed it is better, in that it can be kept updated.
Is there a need for a book? Or perhaps an E-book based on information on this site and extensions of it?

Hi everybody
I'm a long-time backpacker who is now looking to turn my dreams of owning a hostel into reality. I'm currently in South America on a research mission though have yet to find a location I think would be suitable for my hostel.
This is a great site and I look forward to being able to contribute to discussions.
best wishes

Hey guys!
I'm a 22 year-old student who loves meeting people from around the world and getting to know them. So far I've worked in only one hostel, but hopefully that will change this summer when I'd like to go to Spain to work. I study Spanish, therefore am looking to combine work and pleasure :D
C ya around :)
