Hi,

I worked in hostels for many years and realized that there weren't many resources for people who run hostels or who want to open a hostel. I hope that you enjoy the site and find it useful. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. My goal is to create a resource that will promote hostels and hostelling, especially in places where hostelling is not as common (e.g., here in the USA). Post in this section to introduce yourself to the other forum users.

hi,

I'm planning to open an hostel in Portugal. Do you want to considered to come here?
The tourism in this partucular area runs around surf and golf that are 2 completely diferent targets. I believe we don't have many backpackers, but we do have beaches, waves, rural area with some interesting trails... and besides, that we are considered the european Dinossaurs capital. It's even projected a Jurassic Park that must open next year (but with the crisis i don't know). What else? We have one of the 3 european brandys demarcated areas: Cognac, Armagnac and Aguardente da Lourinhã. How does it sound to you?

Hi all Just started plans on opening a hostel in Spain and in the early research stages however i have a good idea and have talked with some marketing companies in the industry and have received very positive feedback. I was looking to lease at first to see how the business gets off the ground but maybe pushed into buying. Funding will be my biggest obstacle however i am confident that I will be able to secure sponsorship and investors when i have my business plan more refined. I have eleven years experience in the hospitality industry and ten years experience in the niche market i will be targeting. Anyone interested in exchanging ideas or would like more information don't hesitate to ask.

Hello everyone!

My name is Steven. My wife and I are looking to lease, purchase or enter a lease/option purchase for a hostel. We have looked at a couple of hostels so far in the northeast part of United States; in particular, New Hampshire in the White Mountains as well as one in Burlington, Vermont next to the Green Mountains. We are also considering one in Puerto Escondido Mexico. Ideally, we would like to take over a hostel in an area where there are activities for the nature purists. However, we would consider one in a metropolitan area. If you are an owner, you can send me a private message. I worked as an attorney for years and understand the importance of keeping your information in confidence. In fact, I will provide you with a signed nondisclosure agreement with my contact information to protect your interest. If you have a an asking price of $400,000 or more, we are unlike interested unless your willing to do some owner financing.
