Hi Lih,
Nice to meet you, thank you for the invite.
My boss has said he is going to meet with you next week. If I can make it, I will come too.

Hi,
I worked in hostels for many years and realized that there weren't many resources for people who run hostels or who want to open a hostel. I hope that you enjoy the site and find it useful. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. My goal is to create a resource that will promote hostels and hostelling, especially in places where hostelling is not as common (e.g., here in the USA). Post in this section to introduce yourself to the other forum users.

Hi all,
my name is Ulrike. I am graduating in 2 weeks from Maastricht University, the Netherlands, Bachelor of Science in International Business, major: marketing.
Before and next to my studies, I was and am an enthusiastic traveler and have seen quite a lot of hostels in the last couple of years while living, working and traveling in quite a few countries (Germany several years, Canada for one year, the Netherlands for 2.5 years, Vietnam for 2 months and France for half a year).
My long-term objective is to open my very own hostel someday. But until then I first want to get more inside-knowledge into hostel mgnt.
I am thus searching for an internship or job in a hostel to not only see the front-office operations but to really experience both worlds - both front and back office.
Happy to have found this page.
Best,
Ulrike.

Hey guys, im a 29yo aussie who loves the surfing culture of meeting new people, travel and lifestyle. Im looking into setting up a hostel in a very natural, rural part of canada. I guess i need to speak with a realtor first to see if its even possible due to the zoning. Theres a few small residential properties there but im not sure about commercial. will keep you guys posted.
Any advice would be great!

I am still looking for a cost effective POS. According to HW, we are the best in Guate. We love that! That said, we need a POS that we can use at
the desk and bar. Ideas?
