Introduce Yourself
Hi,
I worked in hostels for many years and realized that there weren't many resources for people who run hostels or who want to open a hostel. I hope that you enjoy the site and find it useful. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. My goal is to create a resource that will promote hostels and hostelling, especially in places where hostelling is not as common (e.g., here in the USA). Post in this section to introduce yourself to the other forum users.

I am currently looking into the possibilities of opening a hostel In Brazil around the North-East coast, within or around Fortaleza.
The tourism is starting to grow well there and so is the economy. The next couple of years I will be flying down there to resource the area and opportunities further. I am also looking for a partner, in the matter, to share the cost of this project along with sharing the time to manage it so one can still travel around some month or more out of the year.
I have local contact down there who knows the specific and has first hand experiences with getting the licenses needed to make this work. You should be willing and able to throw 35.000 dollars into this.
35.000 dollars will get you a lot in Brazil so think what 70.000 will do.

You might check through the Business Partners section to see if anyone is already looking for a partner in that area. If not, feel free to post details about what you have in mind for the hostel and what kind of partnership arrangement you are looking for so anyone who is interested will know exactly what you're working on.

Hi. My name is Kristoffer and my wife and I live on top of the 30-bed Hostel our family recently opened in the heart of Manila, Philippines. Our goal is to reach as many guests as possible and to share them the experience of living in a Hostel like this in my country. I'm 39 and turning 40 this year with my second son arriving just Saturday, March 2. I'm hoping to learn more from like-minded people who have been in this industry for much longer than I have.
